POSITION SUMMARY
The
SPU/Infusion Registered Nurse provides care to patients by administering
fluids, chemotherapy, medications or blood products through injections,
peripheral IV lines or central venous catheters.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS®
The
SPU/Infusion RN is responsible for monitoring patients, maintaining their IV
access, and recognizing potential drug interaction and complications.®
Administers
the appropriate treatments to patients. Demonstrates the ability and the
appropriate technical skills with administering treatments and procedures in
accordance with physicians orders and IMH policy and procedure.®
All
care, treatment and services provided are within current Federal, State, Local
Standards, Rules, Regulations and Guidelines to ensure that the highest degree
of quality care is maintained at all times.®
Transcribes,
utilizes and implements standing orders, protocols and physician orders.
®
Other

®
Graduation
from an accredited school of nursing required.EXPERIENCE®
Previous
experience with the administration of chemotherapy required.CREDENTIALS®
Must
have a current, valid RN license from the State of Wyoming and must be in good
standing with the Board of Nursing.®
Must
have current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.®
Must
have current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
®
Must have current, valid Chemotherapy
and Biosafety Course certification.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES®
Annual
completion of yearly required CEUs. ®
