8am - 4:30pm Mon - Fri Will be included in an on-call rotation with a second technologist. If the sole technologist will be on call outside of the regular schedule with the exception of Sunday 6:00 am-6:00 pm.

This is a truly unique opportunity to see Alaska. Norton Sound Health Corporation is looking for a technologist for 14 weeks. This position is located in Nome which is a totally remote, rural community in NW Alaska. Nome is famous for many things including being the end of the Iditarod dog sled race, gold mining, the aurora borealis (northern lights in winter), fishing, and Alaska Native culture.  The ideal candidate should be laid back with a sense of adventure.The ultrasound unit is a GE Logiq E9, but expecting to implement out Logiq E10 in the coming months. Exams are scheduled 1 hour apart, so as not to be rushed. The shift will be days; Monday - Friday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm with a standby call rotation.  The candidate must be proficient in OB, general, and vascular studies. Candidates who have not been vaccinated for COVID or who have previously tested positive for COVID are required to complete 7 days in quarantine prior to attending orientation.  Expectations - To perform and provide clinical sonographic services to the people of the Bering Straits Region in accordance with NSHCs mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures while applying standards of the Radiology profession. Obtains and documents patient clinical information as needed.  Performs basic patient care within the scope of practice and to departmental standards.
