Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills utilizing the nursing process to assist patients of various ages in achieving maximum health potential. The RN functions as a health-team member through independent, interdependent, and dependent roles within the healthcare system. The Registered Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing. Minimum Position Qualifications Required:Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school or program and proof of current California license. Knowledge: Requires ability to read and interpret complex documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write complex reports. Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebraic concepts such as proportions, percentages, and simple equations; successful completion of pharmacology test with an overall score of 80% or greater.Special Skills/Equipment: Ability to display professionalism in the work environment; ability to concentrate on details in a busy, distracting environment; ability to solve practical problems and deal effectively with situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, verbal, diagram or schedule format.Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a current RN license issued by the State of California. Unit- specific capabilities and/or certifications are required on hire or within the introductory period (i.e., ACLS & PALS). Current BLS certification is required.
