This is a 30-bed progressive care unit with high acuity patient
population. Outflow of patients to Critical Care and Med Surg units as
needed. RN CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A MINIMUM of 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN
MEDIUM TO LARGE SIZED FACILITIES: Progressive (Intermediate) Care plus some critical care experience. May be required to float to ICU units. EPIC EMR used so recent proficiency is REQUIRED. SKILLS
required must include Vent management, along with comfort level managing
patients with ventricular drains, drips including: Amniodarone, Cardizem,
Heparin, Insulin, pressors, etc; Central lines (CVP and AL), plus more related
critical care patient care. Average nurse:patient 1:3 depending on acuity. Schedule every other weekend; however every weekend might be an option.MUST have OK license in hand at time of submission, MUST have BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS Stroke Certification. EPIC experience highly desirable. Basic orientation to Epic platforms will be provided if unable to 'test-out' on first day. Candidate must be able to pass basic dysrhythmia, basic hemodynamic monitoring and medication exams on first day.
