Shift: Events are Mon-Sat; Times vary; 2hr 8hr shifts
depending on the scheduled events; RNs can choose which days they want to work.
Unit Description
RN to provide flu and pneumonia vaccines at
Hometown Health immunization events.
Events vary from smaller corporate events that entail 20-50 vaccines,
to large community events with upwards of 400 vaccines administered per
event. There are 75+ events throughout
the months of September, October and November.
The incumbent is in a position of high visibility to both contractors
of health promotion programming and the general public demanding high
standards of professionalism, performance and respect for participants and
their confidentiality.
The Registered nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills
necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and
safety, appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets the standards
of quality as measured by the department Competence with Special Population
standards.
Evidence based nursing practice; along with critical thinking skills
are required to provide optimally safe patient care when interacting with
internal and external contacts and exercising judgment and making decisions.
Professional nursing practice is congruent with the American Nurses
Association Code of Ethics.
This position does not provide patient care.
Non-Negotiables
Education: Must have working-level knowledge of
the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and
maintain Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Nevada.
Experience: Two years of patient or public contact
in a clinical or health care setting.
License(s): Current and unrestricted State of
Nevada Registered Nurse license.
Certification(s): Current AHA BLS certification
Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft
Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the
ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for
job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online
benefits enrollment, etc.
