If your answer is yes, please read about your future responsibilities, the necessary qualifications, and the benefits you would receive when you join us.Responsibilities:The Mental Health Counselor, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Nursing Director, is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu on inpatient psychiatric units. The role involves conducting safety checks, patient monitoring, assisting with ADLs, de-escalating acute situations, and providing supportive interactions with patients.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma required; Bachelors Degree in Mental Health, Human Services or related field strongly preferred.Experience: Previous psychiatric/substance inpatient experience preferred. Previous PCT/PCA experience applicable. Skills: Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Health Record required; experience with Electronic Health Record, including Medsphere/Vista preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries; ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner.
