IU Methodists A5East is a progressive care unit that focuses on the close monitoring of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses including, congestive heart failure, post- myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congenital heart defects, and infective endocarditis along with a multitude of other co-morbidities.. We care for patient post-cath lab procedures, prior to LVAD placements or heart/lung transplants and pre- valve replacements. Nurses can gain experience on EKG interpretation, TEE/ Cardioversions, monitoring of cardiac drips, care of patients post- cath lab (ablations, ASD closures, pulmonary valve replacement, pacemaker implant) procedures, ACLS protocol and arrhythmia management.Required Qualifications
