Performs tests and procedures in assigned sections, including those which require exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimum supervision. Independently performs qualitative and quantitative tests, following established guidelines and predetermined criteria. Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and/or results and uses knowledge, critical thinking skills, and judgment to troubleshoot and resolve them. Bactec FX for blood cultures, the Vitek 2 for ID/Sensitivity, the Verigene for the Enteric Pathogen Panel, and the Cepheid for MRSA, C. diff, CT/NG, CRE, Flu/RSV, and MTB-RIF. For rapid tests, the Crypto/Giardia uses a Cardinal Health kit and Rapid Strep is done using the Quidel Quick-Vue kitRequired Qualifications
