DESCRIPTION POSITION Housekeeper/Residential REPORTS TO Housekeeping/Laundry
Supervisor PURPOSE OF POSITION To achieve the
highest level of cleanliness and sanitation.
This position is accountable for basic cleaning services to residential
apartments, all public and office areas as assigned. NATURE AND SCOPE This position
is responsible for the following duties: 1. Exhibits attention to detail and
appreciation of the importance of a sanitary environment to good resident care
in all aspects of work. 2. Cleaning of patios and walkways as
assigned. 3. Cleans and disinfects public areas, as
assigned. 4. Gathers and disposes of refuse,
including cleaning and relining of the waste receptacles. 5. Scheduled cleaning of all assigned
residential apartments, including, vacuuming of carpets, cleaning of restrooms,
kitchen area, dusting, following the procedures as outlined by Covenant Village
of Florida. 6. Participates in Inter-Departmental
meetings, which includes in-services education. 7. Consistently demonstrates a positive
attitude. 8. Fosters team work by offering assistance
to others. 9. Acknowledges and responds tactfully to
all requests. 10. Follows procedures tactfully to all requests. 11. Wears ID badge in a visible location at
all times. 12. Follows proper procedure when using
Kronos system. 13. Knocks before entering apartment. 14. Consistently acts in a professional
manner. 15. Responsible for economical use of
supplies as controlled through distribution. 16. Must be familiar with Covenant Village
of Florida Disaster Plan. 17. Any other assigned duties as they relate
to the above position. Customer Service Expectations ·
Completes
work accurately and thoroughly.·
Has
thorough knowledge of campus buildings and apartments. Working knowledge of safety regulations and
supplies used for cleaning purposes.
Reports residents change of health, physical or mental, to supervisor
and/or Wellness Clinic Nurse. Maintains
complete confidentiality.·
Exemplifies
campus dress code. Communicates and
safety issues with grounds and buildings to supervisor as noticed. Covenant Village

Learns
residents names and addresses them by preferred by name. Offers assistance when needed and
appropriate. Listens attentively to
resident complaints and graciously offers resolution.·
Completes
deep cleaning of apartments as scheduled and according to campus policy.
Responds to any resident, family, visitor or staff request rough to their
attention within 24 hours of notification, even if it is reporting progress and
not necessarily resolution. If
applicable , responds a to voice mail and e-mail messages within 24 hours of
receipt or by date requested by sender.
Responds to all memos and written requests within time frame
specified. Responds to resident, family
and staff requests within 24 hours even if its simply to establish a future
time for addressing the request. If out
of the office for more than one business day, an appropriate voice mail message
should be recorded and an Out of Office reply should be set up through their
e-mail account if applicable. QUALIFICATIONS This person
should have 8th grade education and 6 months to 1 year housekeeping
experience is preferred.This person
must appreciate that attention to detail and sanitary environment is
required. It requires a person who is
neat and courteous, and has the ability to work in a retirement area that is
close with staff and residents.
