The Queens Health Systems mission is to fulfill the intent of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV to provide in perpetuity quality healthcare services to improve the wellbeing of Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawaii.Current BLS-HCP, ACLS and PALS certification is required.Under the supervision of the Manager of SDS/PACU provides professional high quality patient care for ages Neonate-Geriatrics using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) including documentation of patient care in accordance with nursing practice and standards of care.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within the surgical service unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities.2. Revises nursing orders/care plans based on physicians orders and effectiveness of intervention to impact desired outcome, ensuring quality patient care.3. Responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.4. Sets priorities for emergencies, changes in patient status and unusual occurrences. Demonstrates the ability to re-prioritize.5. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.6. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.7. Complies with hospital standards for documentation in medical records. Identifies documentation problems and suggests corrective action.8. Provides safe patient care for patient according to hospital policy, and abides by the Code of Conduct and Compliance program.9. Performs other related duties as assigned and within the parameters of qualifications and scope of practiceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Current completion of certification in BLS. ACLS and PALS certificationsEXPERIENCE:Two (2) years ICU RN experience or two (2) years experience managing patients on vasopressors and ventilators within the last three (3) years preferred.Ability to float to other units as per business/clinical need.Effective 11/6: Queens 14 day quarantine requirement for incoming travelers is being replaced by a COVID test requirement, conducted 72 hours prior to travel, aligning with the states new quarantine exemption option. Tests must be completed through a trusted partner, but CANNOT be a saliva-based test. The traveler will also need to register with the state and apply for the state exemption.
