Reporting to the on-shift Charge Nurse
or DON, the certified nursing assistant is responsible for performing daily resident
care activities, in his/her scope of practice, of an assigned group of
residents, documenting care given. This

High
School diploma preferred or equivalency exam.2.
Current C.N.A. licensure preferred; if
non-certified, must become certified within four months of hire. 3.
Current
BLS level CPR certification.4.
Able to communicate in English both verbally and
in writing. 5.
Is
dependable, reliable with good attendance and the ability to work
with others, at all levels within the organization, and collaborate
effectively.6.
Above-average interpersonal,
problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.7.
Must be a team player to all
departments, confidential of sensitive data, respectful of all other staff
members, considerate of other peoples time, and accountable for work output.8. Previous clinical experience
training and experience in a nursing home/ hospital setting desirable.

Performs or assists with treatments or procedures
ordered by the physician including: ace bandage, ted hose, non-sterile dressing
changes, application of K-pad, cold packs and other treatments as assigned.8.
Assists residents with activity and transfer
including: position change, dangling, ambulation, R.O.M., use of walker, cane,
crutches, hoyer lift, prosthetic devises and gait belt use.9.
Assists residents with food and nutrition
including: passes trays, provides set-up assistance, assists residents to eat,
supplies nourishments, passes water, charts food percentages and intake/output
accurately.10. Obtains
specimens from residents using established procedures.11. Admits
residents to the facility according to established procedures and assists in
making them and their families oriented and comfortable. Discharges residents from the facility
according to established procedure.12. Cares for
residents in isolation following established procedures. Abides by Standard precautions.13. Assists in
meeting residents and their familys emotional, psychological and social needs
while in the facility. Notifies the
charge nurse when problems arise.14. Helps support
residents and their families during and after death and does post mortem care
according to established procedure.15. Observes
safety rules while transporting residents per wheelchair, gurney, etc. Uses gait belt and Hoyer lift appropriately
when ambulating and /or transferring residents who require it. Reports any equipment problems or safety
