Collects, prepares and performs a variety of laboratory tests, from routine to complex, which require independent judgment. Assists with department procedures, including quality assurance, proficiency testing, calibrations, and completes related laboratory duties. Identifies technical, instrumental, and physiologic causes of unexpected results and communicates with providers the necessary information to resolve inconsistencies. Troubleshoots analyzer and procedural problems and works towards resolution. Supervises trainees and other support personnel as directed by the supervisor. Demonstrates a commitment to customer satisfaction, professionalism, and safety. Performs laboratory testing and reporting in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the facility and the department.Education - Bachelors degree in Health Sciences; Education - Associates degree in Related FieldCertification - Medical Technologist (MT) Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) - Certification - Medical Lab Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
