The Supervisor will ensure that the needs of the residents are met. Assuring staff provide high quality resident care in a cost effective manner. The Supervisor is responsible for acting as a liaison for the nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, Certified Aide's, Certified Nursing Assistants), keeping them up to date on changes that effect the department and planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care as well as acting as a liaison to residents, families and others in the community. The Supervisor will address and solve unit problems, and will remain current and informed on new equipment and procedures to remain a resource to the staff and being able to train staff on new equipment and procedures. Assists staff to maintain and upgrade the competencies of professional and non-professional personnel on the nursing unit. Promotes an atmosphere that encourages cooperative and harmonious relationships among employees within nursing and other departments. Nursing service functions are clearly defined and most unit problems will be addressed and solved by the director.
